The turbo cooling upgrade on the GT86 is a remarkable step forward. The optimization of the charge air paths and the improvement of the oil cooling are important measures to increase the performance of the vehicle. By using a square intercooler, two meters could be saved, allowing space for two HKS oil coolers.
The successful modifications have resulted in a consistent 400 horsepower output. The attached pictures clearly illustrate the improvements. Radiator flow was greatly improved by this design, which also aids in consistent power delivery.
Our latest software development for the Suzuki Swift 1.4 Turbo is ready. The driveability is influenced very positively. The CTC helical limited slip differnential was installed in the gearbox so that we can bring the powerful torque onto the road cleanly. The Swift is now a completely different car and can be moved very sportily. Thanks to the LSD, you can accelerate out of the curve early without noticeable slippage. The little racer simply puts a smile on your face.
EcuTek now also supports the BMW with turbo engine. In particular, the N54 and N55 engines, which convince by their torque strength. Of course, we immediately had to do a few tests with our CRTEK. Result see for yourself!
We packed everything into a test. Since we legally offer the BRZ / GT86 with 3 different types of forced induction, both for the road and for racing, here is the ultimate test on our Dyno. All measured values were driven with a similar boost pressure between 0.6 to 0.7 bar.
With our experience of more than 100 built-in kits, we have the right setup for everyone.
The CR (Chip-Racing) AVO Turbokit can convince with sheer power and torque, but it only weakens in the lower rpm range if at all.
The CR (Chip-Racing) Cosworth supercharger kit uses a screw compressor, which provides pressure from idle. You can tell immediately and as the only kit he always makes pressure and mood. He has weaknesses, if any at the speed end.
The CR (Chip-Racing) HKS V3 supercharger kit is easy to handle and makes you happy at the end of the revs. If you like it gently, you are well served here. He has weaknesses in the lower speed range.

Thanks to more power and tourqe over the entire RPM range the Levorg feels so much better on wide open roads and narrow uphill mountain roads!
We can offer the CRTEK for your Levorg with eighter the factory exhaust and for those who like it a bit more sporty with the HKS Hi-Power Spec L catback exhaust with carbon tips.
This week we had our very first Subaru FA16DIT powered car here and were able to start our development for our Subaru Levorg Tuning CRTEK2 to provide the little 1.6 liter engine with some extra horses!
The brand new Subaru 1.6 liter turbo engine features a few huge changes compared to the older EJ engines! Although the FA20 that powers the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 also had some of those improvements, in the new FA16DIT Subaru gone further. Both the FA20 and FA16DIT use a timing chain for the camshaft were the older engines used a timing belt. The FA16 also features a pure direct fuel injection, the FA20 uses mix of both, direct and port injection.
Subaru Levorg Tuning: unknown territory
Being the first EcuTek tuner worldwide to work on the Subaru Levorg with this engine we had to do quite a bit of testing and developing together with EcuTek International.
To start with this unknown ECU we first had to get all the data out of the ECU to develop a so called definition file which makes the data visual! After all the data was sorted out and assigned to the maps we were finally ready for some dynoruns!
The baseline showed that the engine is in good shape and produces the power Subaru promises. With our Beta Software and HKS Hi-Power catback exhaust the power gained is pretty good:
green line: original 167hp / 252Nm
grey line: CRTEK2 198hp / 309Nm
Our CRTEK2 is still in its baby shoes and getting increased permanently to give our customer the best solution possible! We’re now working on several RaceROM features such as variable boost control from the cockpit etc.
Of course our CRTEK2 will be road legal for Switzerland ASAP! Stay tuned for further info in the near future.

The installation of the P3 VIDI gauge is super easy and done in just a few minutes! The P3 is getting it’s information from the car’s ECU and just plugs into the factory diagnostics port! There is no soldering needed and the P3 can be removed anytime without leaving any damage to the car! All you have to do is to remove the factory air vent, insert the new one with the display and plug the cable to the diagnostic port!

The functions vary from car to car. Basically the P3 VIDI shows you anything the ECU gives out. In most cases RPM, fluid temperatures, Exhaust gas temp, Intake temp and more.

Our CRTEK2 tuning package for the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ contains next to our CRTEK ECU reprogramming on our Dyno the awesome Greddy Momentum Airbox, the Milltek catback exhaust as well as the CH-homologation paper for the kit!
Thanks to it’s Potfilter the Greddy Momentum airbox is not just creating more power, it also produces an awesome inlet sound! The stock soundgenerator seen on the BRZ and GT86 can be used if you want to keep that feature.
The Milltek Exhaust for the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 adds the right amount of sound to the GT86 / BRZ. Thanks to it’s perfect fitment it gives your 86 or BRZ the perfect finish!

After our Exhausttest from last week we have something for our EJ25 customers, those with the newer Subaru models. We had a Subaru WRX STI MY2011 with bolt-on’s on our dyno. The test is pretty similar since the car is equipped with a full exhaust plus manifold.

Chip-Racing Subaru Impreza STI 2011 CR370 with 370PS and DTC at Auto Zürich 2012: first impression
We’ll be at the annual Auto Zurich this year again. For 2012 we bring our Subaru Impreza STI MY2011 CR370 with 370HP and homologation. Next to the engine modifications it will bring along many tasty bits to get the handling up to task. Various Cusco braces will increase the cars rigidity and therefor it’s performance!
There is this wide spread myth, that Subaru manufactured form 1992-1998 can’t be reflashed.This myth, like many others, is not true. OK, honestly, it isn’t easy but it can be done with the Chip-Racing Daughterboard!
With the help of our daughterboard we’re able to program every single Subaru Impreza ever made. The daughterboard needs to be soldered into the OEM ECU, this isn’t that easy and cant’ be done with shaky hands!
Once the sockets are soldered in, the daughterboard can just be plugged in!
After the installation is complete we can simply program the ECU via ISO or OBD.
The Subaru Impreza 22B which we had here a few days ago was done by the daughterboard as well. Only modification to the hardware is a aftermarket backbox, boost is set at 1.3bar peak and 1bar hold.

Chip-Racing: Tuning with the all new EcuTek ProECU programming kit
Chip-Racing is proud to introduce the all new EcuTek ProECU programming kit. The ProECU kit allows our subdealers and customers to program ROM’s into vehicles, similar to the Cobb Access Port. Chip-Racing supplies the customers and subdealers with suitable ROM’s and the customers can program it into the car by themself. The ProECU kit gives the possibility to create log files to send back to Chip-Racing for refinements of the calibration .
The EcuTek ProECU programming kit makes life easier for our various customers all over europe. They don’t have to come by our shop for a simple refinement or a complete mapping. With the log function we’re able to see what have to be done to the ROM and can just simply send it back to the customer.
The kit also includes diagnostic and servicing function, such as DTC clearing, idle learning, clutch adjustment, DPF control.

After we had our Chip-Racing Performance Split Scroll Header tested on a 2.0Litre Subaru Impreza STI we now had a Subaru Impreza STI MY08 with our CRTEK2 Tuning Package and our Header on our Dynapack! You can find the complete test with interesting results here.

As the 2012 racingseason comes closer in huge steps we have quiet a lot of competition cars in our workshop these days.
Last week a customer brought his fully drift spec Nissan 200SX S14 to get its SR20DET perfectly tuned on our Dynapack. The car will compete in various driftevents such as the IDS and French Drift Challenge.

When we take a look out the window these days we notice one thing: Spring is here! Not just because of the nice sunny weather but the Chip-Racing Competition cars standing in front of our shop to get their final tune!

This week we had the honor to tune a customers Audi RS6 4.2 Biturbo! We fitted a Milltek Catback and some Wagner Intercoolers!
After the bolt ons the Audi received our CRTEK2 software and got fine tuned on our Dynapack Dyno. The result clearly shows that our CRTEK2 is an amazing upgrade for the Audi RS Models for a moderate price!
